ZaC was sleeping on his knees again one afternoon & Mummy took a snapshot of him. When he was a newborn, ZaC loved sleeping in that same position. Look how much our baby has grown!

ZaC got to attend a Halloween party in school! Coincidentally, Mummy just read him a book titled "Fright Night" which featured a haunted house, mummies, vampires, witches, ghosts, werewolves, etc. ZaC was very curious about them. Luckily, all the characters are friendly ones! ZaC wanted to go to school dressed up as a fireman but it didn't fit the theme. In the end, ZaC wore his old Gap PJs which has skeletons on them. His friend came as a Transformer robot and his teacher was dressed up as a witch! Cool!

Mummy has been preparing breakast for ZaC using the Doraemon & vehicles bread cutter she bought online. The main idea is to get ZaC to eat bread on a regular basis as we wouldn't know if he eats bread in school. The bread filling will either be kaya or cheese, both of which ZaC loves. When Mummy spotted a recipe to make bread sushi in a magazine, she tried it as ZaC loves seaweed. It was also a hit with him!

ZaC loves playing at the Marina Square playground. Initially, he needed an adult to stand at the bottom of the pole to grab him on the way down. Now, he is daring enough to come down like a firefighter!

The last time ZaC visited the zoo with Daddy & Mummy was when he was only 6 months old. Early this year, his school brought him. On the Teacher's Day school holiday, we all went with Godpa's family. The kids had lots of fun riding the tram around the zoo. The two animal shows were also exciting! ZaC got to feed the goats, after some coaxing and encouragement. He got to see the animals live instead of reading about them in books.

Mummy has not been spending much time with ZaC after Zeyes was born. Last week, ZaC's school was closed for teachers' training. Mummy took the opportunity to bond with ZaC. Mummy made a Doraemon bread as a surprise for his breakfast. ZaC gobbled the bread up in no time! Next is a ride to the nearby field to look for mimosa and run around. After a good workout, mother & son massaged our feet on the pebble path at the playground. The next destination is the library to read & borrow books. ZaC had his favourite udon noodles at the foodcourt for lunch before heading home to take his nap! Mummy hopes we can have more "Mother & Son Day" in the future!

Since Mummy is pregnant with Zeyes, ZaC has been hanging out with Daddy a lot. At his age, boys start seeing their Daddy as his role model. As a toddler, ZaC loves sitting on Daddy's shoulders. He gets a bird's eye view up there! He is slowly changing from being a "Mummy's boy" to a "Daddy's boy"!

Last month, ZaC & Daddy went on a school outing to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden together. Both of them sat on a bus there, with friends and teachers. ZaC had great fun exploring the place with his friends. Term 2's theme is about plants, so they picked flowers, fruits, leaves and branches along the way. There was even a snack pack for everyone. The kids ended the trip playing at the waterplay area within the garden.

ZaC mastered pedalling the bicycle recently. It took several tries since he got the bicycle as his birthday present in February. Now, he can control his speed & maneuver his way around. Daddy & Mummy are proud of his effort!

ZaC absolutely adores his younger brother. He talks to him in a high-pitched voice & shows him all his toys. When he reaches home, the first thing he does is to take a look at Zeyes. After almost 2 weeks away from home, we are all glad to be ending our holiday. When we arrived in Hong Kong, ZaC really felt homesick & asked about going to school everyday! Being in a foreign country, he wanted to be carried all the time so Daddy & Mummy were also exhausted. It doesn't help that the weather in Hong Kong was really humid, unlike cool Taiwan. So, we were all glad to be going home!

Last weekend, Daddy brought ZaC on a leisurely walk to the temple near our house. ZaC wanted to touch the mimosa plants. He ended up playing with a stick at the field next to the temple. ZaC turns 3 today! He has grown from a blabbering baby to a chatty toddler! Now, he talks non-stop - about what happened in school, imitating his teacher & us, asking questions about everything - and he sings! He is also always full of energy, running all over the place! After observing the teppanyaki chef at the restaurant, ZaC requested for a chef's hat at home. Mummy made him one out of paper. He has never like wearing hats or caps but this time, he wore the chef's hat while playing at his toy kitchen. He will prepare meals for everyone and serve them with pride!

This year, ZaC learnt about receiving Ang Baos & bringing tangerines to homes we visited. His teachers taught him to bow & thank those who gave him Ang Baos. When we had visitors to our home, he will also exchange the tangerines for them. As a tradition, ZaC visited Daddy's office on the Sunday of CNY & got to watch the Lion & Dragon Dance. He was still afraid of them, preferring to watch them from a distance.

ZaC has always preferred to converse in English and will also ask Mummy not to speak to him in Mandarin. But he loves listening to CNY songs or watching CNY DVD. At his new school, ZaC's Chinese teacher does not understand English at all. So he is forced to converse with her in Mandarin. Now, he is starting to 'accept' Mandarin & as he loves singing, he sings Chinese songs taught in school!

Going to the library to borrow books has become a fortnightly routine for ZaC. He loves listening to Mummy read the books from library as Mummy picks those which appeal to his interests. As Mummy is picking the books, he will 'entertain' himself. Here, he is pretending to be reading to someone.

To prevent ZaC from developing a sweet tooth, he was not given much sweet treats when he was younger. Now, he gets to eat the occasional ice cream or sweet/lollipop during festive occasions. He also takes multi-vitamins in the form of gummy sweets. Just like any kid, he loves them & also knows how to request for such treats. It's also good that he brushes his teeth to prevent any tooth decay.

When ZaC was learning about letter E, he got to peel a quail egg. Mummy was amazed he can be gentle - peeling off the shell without squashing the egg. After his 'hard work', he got to eat the egg as a reward!

ZaC turns 33 months! He is accepting the Chinese langauge and is more willing to converse in it now. In the past, he used to tell Mummy to speak in English whenever Mummy speaks to him in Mandarin. He is also beginning to be aware of other's feeling. E.g when Mummy scolds him, he will ask,"Do you like me?" He also notices if someone is feeling angry or sad. Although he is toilet-trained for the day, he still wears diapers at night. But he has been waking up in the middle of the night asking to go to the toilet to pee. Soon, he might not need his diapers anymore! He knows how ask for things now when we go window shopping. Mummy has to keep reminding him to say "Can I .........?" rather than "I want ..........!". He says "Thank you" automatically now. Having good manners is very important, Daddy & Mummy wants ZaC to be a polite and respectful boy.
